GLOBAL DWELLING we live here.
Our Comprehensive Home Assessment in which we charge $400.00 for a home at or under 2000 Square feet, has two phases. The first phase consists of our BPI-certified contractor taking inventory of, and reporting on, the current conditions in your home, including the following:
The second phase consists of our contractors developing a personalized workscope for proposed improvements, including a cost and energy savings estimate.
We use varied tools including a Carbon Monoxide (CO) Analyzer and a Blower Door system to measure the air tightness of a home and aids in identifying areas where air leakage is occurring.
Then based on the testing results we will submit to you a report with options for improvements.
You can then choose which option best suits your family . Please contact us for more information.

GLOSSARY
Indoor air quality (IAQ) is a term referring to the air quality within and around buildings and structures, especially as it relates to the health and comfort of building occupants. IAQ can be affected by microbial contaminants (mold, bacteria), gases, including carbon monoxide.
Insulation levels are specified by R-Value. R-Value is a measure of insulation’s ability to resist heat traveling through it. The higher the R-Value the better the thermal performance of the insulation
Infiltration is a term that relates to air leaking into or out of a home through small cracks in doors frames, window frames, outlets, walls, floors, roof, and other construction.
The domestic hot water tank supplies your hot water needs all year round. The domestic hot water tank takes care of extra heat required in the shower, tub or sink.
The efficiency of a heating system is the ratio between the amount of usable heat produced and the amount of potential energy in the fuel. The three main types of heating efficiency are combustion, which looks only at the efficiency of the combustion process; steady-state, the efficiency when the heating system is in steady-state operation; and seasonal, the average efficiency over the entire season.
The efficiency of a cooling or central air system is the ratio between the amount of usable colling air produced and the amount of potential energy. Optimizing Air Flow in your cooling system will also help, if air flow in your and cooling system is too high or too low, you may expierence comfort problems and higher utility bills.
use.
Switching from traditional light bulbs (called incandescent) to CFLs is an effective, simple change everyone in America can make right now. Making this change will help to use less electricity at home and prevent greenhouse gas emissions that lead to global climate change. Lighting accounts for close to 20 percent of the average home’s electric bill.
Home appliances look pretty much the same on the outside, but they vary greatly in terms of energy-efficiency and operating costs. The more energy-efficient an appliance is, the less it costs to run. You can lower your utility bill and help protect the environment.
Windows, doors and skylights, do not consume energy directly. They do, however, add to the heating and cooling loads of the buildings in which they are installed. Selecting and installing energy-efficient windows, doors and skylights can minimize these additional space conditioning loads and reduce the amount of energy used by the building's heating and cooling system.
